Staind

Far more successfully than most other nu-metal bands, Staind has found a way to couple edgy, hard rocking intensity with emotional sensitivity and strong melodies. The band is at their deep and dark best on the new "Chapter V."

In Springfield, Massachusetts is where this band was put together & given their name. Which isn't hard to figure out the meaning of the six letter word! Aaron Lewis Lead Singer/Guitarist, Guitartist Mike Mushok & Bassist Johnny "Ol  Skool" April and the back bone of the band Jon Wysocki Percussionist Wiping the floor with all their rivals on the American/ New England music scene are the heart pounding, menacing, melancholy and magnificent outfit known as STAIND. They've became one of this nations fastest growing Hard-Rock bands of the 21st century with strength of great connections, great attitude and even sonic oblivion. Frontman & lead singer Aaron Lewis' personal angst and emotional baggage carried over from a family life and isolated childhood that went sour has routed Staind in some of the greatest, & most powerful rock music heard in many years. They've Sparked a New Revolution to the Modern Rock era & have become one of the most influential and connective bands to come out of New England, Mass.

But before all that happened Staind was a slightly unknown band playing the local scene in their hometown of Springfield, MA; & throughtout New england. Stainds 1996 debut album Tormented which was one of Staind's most painful & darkest albums to this date. The band's BIG BREAK came in the fall of 1997 when Staind was lucky to perform with Limp Bizkit at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT. The stand off occured about 20 mins before Staind was supposed to perform. When Fred Durst (Frontman/limp Bizkit)approached Aaron with the copy of the Tormented Album, which someone had given him; which was no problem for the band. Until Fred tryed kicking Staind off the Bill only judging them due to the nature of the cover art. Assuming they were Satan worshippers, from the graphic cross with a doll hanging upside down bleeding from the croch! The band conviencing Fred that they weren't satanist led them to still perform at Webster Theater. After witnessing the positive and crazyness attention Staind gave the crowd. Fred Durst signed Staind to Freds label Flip/Elektra Records From then on Staind Continued writing & producing new material for their 1999 release of Dysfunction recieving platinum plus status. Which topped the charts with their Remastered single "Mudshovel", along with other hits like "Just go" & "Home". After Hitting the local radios, Staind grew more & more of their fan base by the relavince of Aaron Lewis's introspective lyrics, with Lewis unknowningly wondering how fans can relate to his horrofic past life. For the Next year or two staind played venues promoting their album.

Once Music was in the works again. Staind hit the Studio this time for an even more advancement in musical progression & an even deeper lyrical taste to their to May 22, 2001 release of Break The Cycle. This album reached Multi-Platinum in its first couple of weeks & months of release, thanks to their Hit single "It's Been Awhile" which astronomically helped the album hitting the Billboard charts at #1 & staying in that position for weeks. With more hits coming off Break the Cycle like "Fade", "Epiphany","For You" & "Outside" Kept Staind growing & kept album sales reaching over 700,000 copies sold in the first weeks of its release. After the first months of the bands new release, Staind Started a World Tour to Promote Break The Cycle Hitting the West & East Coast of the US. and reaching Europe. BREAK THE CYCLE BECAME KNOWN WORLD-WIDE as being a Top Hit on the US & EUROPEAN billboard Charts.

Two years Later STAIND Whipps out their fourth album known as 14 Shades Of Grey Releasing their Hit singles "Price To Play", "So Far Away", Until their release hit stores in May 0f 2003. For all Fans waiting a good amount of time for their next release Staind Made sure they were adjusted to their new sound of musical melodies, and recieved positively/good feed-back from their souls. Wanting to find new kinds of musical melodies that are genuine to themselves. Staind felt that 14 shades was their high-water mark to their careers', which was previously conducted as being a PLATINUM SUCCESS again.
